Denied, Denied, Denied, Denied!

It has been quite a while since my last blog entry. I applied to Chapel Hill, Emory University, UT-Austin, and Southern California. I was denied at all four of them. Emory and Texas do not provide feedback. Southern California only provides feed back in August, and I'm waiting to hear back from UNC about whether or not they provide feedback. I was actually wait listed by UNC only to be denied Monday, the 21st.

I think my essays were not up to snuff. I bought a book, "GMAT Application Essays", after I applied (good time to buy an Essay help book I know :-D) and after looking at some of the essays in the book, I do not feel that my essays were clear and concise. I should have ordered the book a long time ago, but I'm the guy who likes to go at it on his own... lesson learned! I also did not make the first round application deadline, a mistake I do not plan to duplicate!

I am thinking of taking the GMAT again (May timeframe) to try for a higher score, pushing for a 690. I think that score, minimum, with better essays should get me into a good school for the fall of 09. I have been studying the Princeton Review material that was passed to me by a friend who took the class. It is actually great information for me, as I'm a bit of a math geek.

I'll keep you posted on a regular basis!

An easy way to appeal job seekers

unc is a total waste of

unc is a total waste of time, their so called business school isn't really that great. They model (mock) so much of what they teach from the far superior university 9 miles down the road...Duke/Fuqua. Give Duke a try, you won't be sorry you did.
